holistic support for individuals affected by long-term illnesses, addressing feelings of
isolation, fear, and mortality, and offering a safe space for emotional support and
empowerment.
Advocacy, Research, and Policy Influence:

- Advocate for policies that promote holistic approaches to disease management,
addressing intersections of health with climate, environment, SRHR, GBV, VAC, and
youth economic empowerment. - Invest in research initiatives to understand complex factors influencing cancer and
chronic illnesses, focusing on innovative solutions and interventions to improve health
outcomes. - Champion an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to reduce adverse effects of
climate change on health, advocating for sustainable practices and policies.
Partnerships, Capacity Building, and Human Rights:

- Collaborate with local and international organizations, healthcare providers, and
government agencies to enhance the impact and reach of programs and initiatives. - Develop capacity-building programs to strengthen women led organisations, their staff,
volunteers, and community members to ensure long-term sustainability and
effectiveness of initiatives. - Advocate for the rights of individuals affected by diseases, ensuring access to quality
healthcare, social support, and protection against discrimination. - Provide legal aid/pro bono services to indigent individuals, ensuring access to justice
and essential healthcare services, and addressing legal and socio-economic barriers to
health and access to justice.

- Climate change advocates at a brainstorming meeting. Central, Northern, and Eastern regions well represented.
The team agreed that the intersection between climate change and health called for a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach.
